Selecting the most appropriate guitar amp to buy depends upon a variety of factors. You cannot buy an amplifier just because someone recommends it, or because when much energy that it can hand out. your final decision should be in line with the quality of sound from the guitar that you’re playing, and not with the brand from the amp, as using a quality brand named amp may not always produce the highest quality sound of your guitar.

You don’t have to invest a lot of money on a guitar amplifier having a popular brand, when a mystery name or less popular name would give a similarly high quality sound out of your guitar. One thing to remember is that maximum output isn’t the the very first thing of the amp. It may seem it is good having the ability to stretch your audiences ear drums to their limit, but this would be useless when the company’s sound from the amp was of low quality,

Sound effects will also be a significant consideration when making a purchase, a guitar amp will come with varying amounts of channels, sound clips, and control knobs. Some people is only going to want to play while using original sound, with others there might be an additional increased exposure of reverb effects etc.

Many guitarists, prefer tube amplifiers for their distortion and tone, and also the quality of sound is usually louder than solid state amps, the tubes will need to be changed from time to time too, since the performance of the tubes deteriorate

Another type of guitar amplifier to think about, is modeling amps also known as digital amps, designed to use state of the art technology to simulate the sound of amplifiers from the bygone age, they are also more complicated with features, which are programmable to provide different effects

So before you spend anything, research all of your options first, you would like value for money so you need high quality sound. An excellent brand doesn’t imply high quality sound or value for money, don’t just see your nearest guitar shop and buy the first guitar amplifier that you simply see, there are plenty of guitar amplifier magazines and publications available on the market, that are always advertising, where you could get better affordable, and don’t forget, never buy anything without a written guarantee.

In fact, in terms of sound, the amplifier may be even more important than the guitar. How To Learn Guitar Chords FastA cheap guitar played through a good amp can sound good, whereas a good guitar played through a cheap amp sounds poor.

As a guitar retailer, I have sold guitar and amplifier sets that cost less than 0.00. That’s right, the guitar and amplifier together cost less than 0.

As an experiment, I played one of these guitars through a Marshall full stack with a 100 watt JCM 900 tube head. And it sounded pretty impressive-much better than I would have thought. Sure, the bottom end wasn’t as “throaty” as you get from those Gibson Humbuckers. And the overall sound was a little less tight-but we’re talking details here. We’re starting to nitpick. In general, it still sounded really good.

Then I took a Les Paul Standard and plugged it into the small 15 watt amp that came in the set. It sounded like I was listening to someone play the guitar over the telephone. There were no lows and the highs sounded tinny. The cheap amp had totally destroyed the sound chain-even though I was playing a 00.00 guitar.

So the moral of the story: an inferior guitar shows itself by degrading the sound details. An inferior amplifier shows itself by trashing your main sound.

Most starter amps run in the 10-watt to 15-watt range. Many people buy them as a first amplifier because they are cheap (usually under 0.00). In general, these amps sound very poor and I do not recommend them. They are only useful when playing alone-and even then, they still have bad sound.

My teenage son was in a band a couple years ago. At the time, we had a couple stack amplifiers around the house, and he did not feel like lugging one of those to practice. Instead he would borrow a friend’s little 15-watt Fender combo. The few times I saw them practice, I was not even able to hear his guitar over the drums, bass and other guitar-and neither could he. And he certainly could never play a gig with that amp!

My recommendation is to get at least a quality 30-watt amplifier. Line 6, for instance, makes a nice line of great sounding combo amps in the 0 – 0 range. They sound good and have all kinds of great sounding guitar effects and amp models built in.

If you can’t afford the 0.00 or more, then I suggest that you look for a good quality used amp. There are often some great deals at used music equipment stores and pawn shops. You can also find some pretty good deals online. However, when purchasing online, be sure to double-check shipping charges because amplifiers are heavy items and sometimes shipping can be pricy.

Above all, the most important advice I can give is: try it out. Listen to the amp. Bring your guitar into the store and play it through the amp. Play it on the clean channel. Play it on the overdrive channel. Try out the built-in effects. If you are going to gig with this amp-play it loud. (Tell the salesman first). But you have to like it. In fact, you have to love it. It’s going to be part of your sound chain.

Choose your amp carefully. It can have an even greater impact on your sound chain than your guitar. Don’t buy the cheapest amp you can find just because it’s cheap. In the long run it will cost you money because before long, you will be out shopping for a better one. If you can’t afford a better amp, either be patient and save some more money, or look for a good inexpensive used amp. It may look a little tattered or beat-but, that’s okay-it’s the sound you’re after.

There are many things to consider when shopping for an acoustic guitar. Amongst those are undoubtedly price, the skill level of the guitarist, and the kind of music that will be played. On top of that, you will want to think about precise characteristics to the guitar itself, like materials used in construction, the kind of neck, the guitar size, and whether or not the guitar has electronics on-board.

Price. How much a guitar would cost is absolutely a substantial factor. Sitka spruce is commonly used for the soundboard, which is the top panel of the guitar. Sitka Spruce carries a loud, hearty tone that is good for a variety of playing conditions.
Maple is more likely to give an acoustic guitar a flatter sound, but can produce a difference once the guitar is played with an amplifier.
Alder is another common wood used in acoustic guitar construction and provides a strong middle wavelengths response pattern, that is neither too high nor too low.
Mahogany is sometimes used in the tops of the acoustic guitars to supply the tone a solid resonant tone with a better response in the upper register.

Koa, Brazilian Rosewood, Indian Rosewood and Ebony are just some of the woods used in making an acoustic guitar but less popular.

To sum it up, there are a variety of sizes, woods used in construction, amplifiable characteristics, and trims. Additionally, there are several brands ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Before you buy an acoustic guitar, devote some time preparing a list of the main factors to think about from the tips we gave in this article.

If you are in the market for a new guitar there are quite few things that you will need to take into consideration. What type of guitar are you looking for? Both acoustic and electric guitars can offer different sounds and features. What is the purpose of the guitar? Acoustic and electric guitars product very different music, so this is an important thing to consider. Will you be recording or performing at live shows? Acoustic and electric guitars are both easily portable and could serve this purpose. No matter what the reason is for the use of the guitar, if you play an acoustic guitar you may want to look into purchasing an electric acoustic guitar.

Acoustic electric guitars incorporate everything that an acoustic guitar player requires with the added function of being able to be plugged in and played through an amplifier like an electric guitar. That’s right, played through an amplifier and still keeping the warm crisp sound that is created only by an acoustic guitar. This is achieved by including an electromagnetic pickup on the body of the acoustic guitar like the one ones that are used on electric guitars. These are sometimes placed inside the body of the guitar or placed under the bridge. These electromagnetic pickups use the vibration from the strings of the guitar to create the amplified sound that is heard. More commonly used are pickups that use the electric signal and the natural sound that is created with the natural movement of the strings and the natural sound created within the hallow part of the guitar.

A plus of an acoustic electric guitar is that you can play for much larger audiences than you could with a standard acoustic guitar. Being able to plug it into an amplifier gives you total control of the volume of the instrument. So, even if you are playing for a large crowd and have very soft parts in the song that you are playing, you are able to turn up the instrument so that everyone is still able to enjoy the performance. When used in recording sessions, it gives the guitar player a lot of control over what is going on. The total control of the instrument does not have to be controlled by the recording engineer because the acoustic guitar is recording through a microphone. You are able to plug your acoustic electric guitar directly into the mixing console or amplifier and control the instrument yourself.

Other benefits of owning acoustic electric guitars are that they are very flexible instruments. It does not always have to be plugged in to be played. It really still is an acoustic guitar, and can be played as one. Being able to switch it to an electric guitar has its advantages. It can become a hybrid guitar and play natural acoustic sounds that are mixed with effects that are more commonly played with an electric guitar. And then, you can just rock out and play it like an electric guitar.

So, if you are an acoustic guitar player, or an electric guitar player, an electric acoustic guitar gives you the unique opportunity to combine the best of both worlds in one instrument. Whether you need to play for a large audience or a small group of people, an electric acoustic guitar is great for either occasion, and all you need is one guitar to get both jobs done. Just watch some of your favorite bands perform, I’m sure that you will be able to spot an electric acoustic guitar on stage.

Best Guitars For Beginner’s (Acoustic and Electric)

You want a good guitar, but you don’t want to have to use your college savings to get it. For those of you who worry that a beginning guitar might take a huge chunk out of your wallet, never fear. I’ve got some really good news for you. I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico. Oh yeah, and I also wrote this article for first time guitarists like you.

There’s so many…You feel like you’re drowning in a pool of guitars. It’s alright if you’re not sure which one to get. Many people have a hard time picking out a shirt in the morning. Difficult decisions are a part of life. But as far as guitars go, you’ve got to make some comparisons between what you want, and what you can afford.

Pretend you had ten thousand dollars. Pretty sweet, right? You’re sixteen or seventeen again, about to buy a car. You have your license, but little driving experience. Would you spend eight thousand of that money on a really nice, expensive car?

No of course not. You barely know where the switch for you windshield wipers are. There’s a pretty good chance you’ll crash, hit a pothole, run over some curbs. And then what? Eight grand out the window. Moral of the story? When you’re just starting something, take it slow. Don’t get the best of the best just yet. Work up to it. Everyone wants the thousand dollar electric guitar embedded with diamonds. (I’m pretty sure that costs more than a grand, but you get the idea) But if you’ve never played before, now is the time to be cheap. Get something you can practice on. Get something that you know can handle a few beatings if you drop it or damage it. The last thing you need is a scratched, beat up, three hundred dollar guitar. You’ll probably end up buying another one anyways. So for now, be tight with your money.

Secondly, if you’re a first time guitarist, I highly suggest you start out with an acoustic guitar. Reason for my theory? Acoustic guitars have wider necks than electric guitars, thus giving your fingers a better range of space to stretch. If you can get your fingers used to an acoustic guitar, then when you switch over to an electric, it’ll be a piece of cake. Electric guitars have very thin necks, so you’ll probably have an easier time finding strings and moving your hands. Plus acoustics are nice because you don’t need an amplifier to play them. Electrics, however, are pretty much useless without their sidekick, the amp. However, there are some who argue that it would be much better to start out with an electric first because it is easy; there’s no need to push hard on the strings or deal with the finger pain. Electrics are easy to play, yes. But if you plan on playing acoustic in the future, I recommend you just start with an acoustic. Get the hardest part out of the way first. But still, if you’re itching to get an electric, go right ahead and snatch one up. I can only make the suggestions, but everyone’s musical strengths and preferences are all different. I’ve given you both sides of the story, now it’s your turn to decide which of the two you’ll pick out for yourself.

Ok, so enough of that. To start off, here is a list of acoustic/non-electric guitars that are wonderful candidates for beginners like you. Take time deciding which ones seem to have the best pro’s. Compare and contrast, research a little. You’re about to take the next big step in your musical horizon.

Yamaha FG700s

The Yamaha FG700S is a perfect beginner’s guitar. It’s simple, lower in price, and capable of taking a beating. There have been a few complaints about glue overlap where the neck connects to the body, but nothing’s perfect. The newer versions of this guitar are a bit pricey, but if you can manage to find an older version of this beauty, you’re in for a real treat. Also, a bit of good news for those with a not so great knack for tuning, the Yamaha FG700s has durable diecast tuners, and it makes it a lot easier on beginners. What am I trying to say? Less time tuning, more time playing.

Takamine Jasmine s35

If you’re looking for a little more bang for your buck, the Takamine Jasmine s35 should definitely be on your radar screen. There’s a lot of great reviews on this guitar and it usually goes for about seventy five bucks and higher. In fact, many people believe this guitar is worth more than its normal price. It’s that good. This bad-boy also has some superb sound and quality structure. The only downside? This guitar does need to be tuned a bit more often than usual. So if you’re a tuner-hater, you might want to rethink your decision in getting this guitar.

Fender Starcaster Acoustic

The Fender Starcaster acoustic guitar is a wonderful guitar for beginner’s. Its light weight makes it perfect for on-the-go, and the wood is, for the most part, soft. The downside to this is it might be a lot easier to damage or scratch this guitar, but carrying cases are always an option. Also, this guitar goes easy on your wallet. Many Starcasters can be picked up at stores and local pawn shops for under a hundred bucks. Not bad, right? Plus, with a name like Fender, you can’t go wrong. Fender is the number one American guitar brand and although a lot of their guitars may not stand out from the rest, their quality is something worth considering.

Yamaha C40 Classical Guitar

This guitar differs from the rest for many reasons. For one, this is a classical guitar, meaning that it can play pretty much anything. Whether it be country or blues, Spanish fingerpicking or rock, your possibilities are endless. Also, most classical guitars have nylon strings, which are much softer than steel or metal strings. So if you’re worried about pain when you play, or have sensitive hands, you might want to consider getting a classical guitar. This specific brand does tend to be a bit higher in price, but there are some websites that offer good deals on classical guitars

Epiphone DR100 Acoustic

“A diamond in the rough” is just one of the things that reviewers say about this guitar. The Epiphone DR100 is a fantastic acoustic guitar for beginners and has a nice, solid body and clean sound. This guitar normally goes for around a hundred bucks and lower, but others go for more. However, it is pretty easy to find these for cheap online or even on eBay if you can find them. Whatever you do, just consider this guitar as one of you top choices and also make sure to buy a set of extra strings if you get it. (Factory strings tend to cause problems)

Ok so there you have it, five acoustic/non-electric starter guitars for first time players. Now, if you are a true rookie and are starting for the first time, I highly recommend an acoustic to start out, as I stated previously. But if you think you’re ready to bump it up to electric, or just want to get your hands on one of these badboys, then below is a list of good quality electric guitars for beginners.

Squier Fat Stratocaster

A perfect beginner’s guitar for those who like electric. This beauty has gotten great reviews from all over the web, as well as some great deals online. It may look like any run-of-the-mill guitar, and it is. But the quality is outstanding. Also keep in mind that this guitar brings out a sound most suitable for blues and classical/soft rock, so if you’re looking to shred some metal, I wouldn’t recommend this brand of guitar. However, if you’re looking for something to practice on, this is a reliable piece of equipment. It’s durability is phenomenal, as it can definitely take a beating. Worried about dropping it or scratching the paint? No problem. The Squier Fat Stratocaster was built tough, and can handle anything that you throw at it. (Except maybe a brick)

Epiphone Les Paul Special II

A bit more money, but the Les Paul Special II is actually sold at a very decent price for the quality that it delivers. This guitar is more suitable for the metal fans and distortion-lovers. The only trick is finding the right amp for this guitar. Different amps will make the same guitar sound a bit different on each one, so be smart when shopping for amplifiers. Make sure to ask which amp will produce the kind of sound you’re looking for. Also, this is a durable and strong guitar for those who might be giving it a future beating. The only real “downside” is that Les Paul’s tend to not come with whammy bars, and this is one missing feature that you might want to take into consideration. If you’re looking to practice with a whammy, then you would probably be better off picking out a different model of guitar.

Ibanez GRX20Z

Many people might not know this, but Ibanez makes great electric guitars for beginners. The Ibanez GRX20Z is a nice piece of work, with twenty two medium frets, rosewood fingerboard and two simple controls, one for volume and one for tone control. This guitar’s not too complicated, but it packs a punch. Also, for you whammy bar lovers, the GRX20Z comes with one handy. This guitar is also put together quite well and its detail may be surprising. As far as reliability goes, this guitar is very durable. It does not get knocked out of tune easily, even in bumpy car rides, and it’s capable of maintaining its spotless image even after a few bumps and scrapes. A great electric guitar for beginners, I would definitely recommend this guitar to first timers.

Epiphone SG Special

Last but not least, the SG special is one hell of a catch. This guitar is great not only for beginners but even for the guitar-savvy musician. The SG special comes with the basics, SG body style, one tone control, one volume control, two humbuckers, and a three-way selector. Doesn’t come with a whammy bar, but hey, with a guitar like this I’m sure you can live without it. The sound it produces is great if you’re into artists like AC/DC, Slayer, etc. This guitar also gets great compliments on its paint job, for it’s sleek and glossy, giving it a nice touch. I’ve seen this guitar online going for about 0, but there’s a possibility of finding it cheaper if you know where to look. (Don’t forget to check out your local pawn shops!) Just do some research and make some wise decisions. Whatever you do, I’d consider you give this guitar a gander.

So there you have it, four electric guitars that I would recommend for beginners. Whichever one you go with, whether it be acoustic or electric, just go ahead and give it your all when you practice. These guitars should give you some bang for your buck if you get your hands on them and would be great first time instruments to have. Hopefully this helped all you future soon-to-be band members. And even if you don’t plan on joining a band and rocking the world, this list should still give you some great options for guitars to play in your downtime. Whether you be in your bedroom strumming some chords, or in your friend’s garage making the windows rattle, just remember to practice, practice harder, and always turn it up to eleven.

Finding a Grown Up Guitar for Small Adult Hands

Back in the day we had a pretty successful local band. We played all the “sock hops” and even made a nice living playing road gigs in the tri-state area of Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania under the names of “The Crazy Tones” and “The Challets”. I mainly played rythym guitar and, on occasion, I played keyboard on certain songs. One thing I never played and never learned was lead guitar, the ultimate goal for all guitar players I think.

Well, I retired recently and decided to revisit my love of guitar playing. I began a search for a guitar that offered a nice price and good quality. I bid on a few on eBay but quickly found the bids to be almost as high as buying locally when you consider Shipping and Handling. I scoured local music stores but found nothing that fit me comfortably, that was at a fair price. I had no idea how much guitar prices have gone up over the years and how much quality has suffered for a low end guitar. Even good used guitars were few and far between. But, I kept looking.

In the process I discovered two manufacturers of short neck guitars. I thought – “These must be for kids and girls.” But, once I looked over the specifications I realized they were not the guitars sold by toy stores at all. These were versions of full size guitars that are downsized for small adults with small hands and, yes, even for the aspiring lady pickers and teens.

My number one concern, of course, was quality of craftsmanship and sound quality. The price was a surprise. More about that in a moment.

I looked at the Fender Squire and the Ibanez Mikro. The Fender, frankly, got poor ratings from musicians and from newbies. The Ibanez, on the other hands, scored a 90% satisfactory rating among the same group. Based on that, I bought the Ibanez Mikro for under 0.00 including Free Shipping and Handling. I have not been disappointed.

I now play tunes that were almost impossible and I play them comfortably. The quality? The sound? I give this git a 100% positive rating!

Learning to play guitar is well worth the time and effort. Of course, one has to figure out where to start. A bit of knowledge about the components of a guitar and the overall concept of songs is a good place to start. After that, you are going to need a guitar to learn on. In this article, we look at the type of guitar you should buy and why.

The first thing to understand is quality equates to price. Would you buy a Ferrari for a teenager learning to drive? Of course, not. Why? Because they are bound to thrash the thing and that is a huge waste of money. The same lesson can be applied to your first guitar. It is going to take a beating. You want something with a nice sound, but don’t want to spend a bundle. You can buy something nice when you get the hang of things.

So, how do you go about buying a solid starter guitar? The answer is actually not all that simple. No beginner really knows what they are doing, so the best first step is often to get help. Salesmen in music stores are like salesmen anywhere, so avoid them. Instead, give some thought to whether anybody you know plays. If you know someone, they can go to the store with your and make a recommendation. Actually, they’ll often have a guitar they will just give you!

What if you don’t know anyone? Then you are going to have to rely on some independent third party source. I’m as credible as anyone, so let me make some suggestions. The Martin LX1 is a good choice. Why? It is a ¾ size guitar, relatively cheap and Martin is an excellent brand. The smaller size is particularly helpful when learning scales and such until you become coordinated. You’ll pay between 0 and 0. You might check on Craiglist or eBay for used ones that are cheaper.

The Yamaha FG700S is another solid selection. It is a full size acoustic guitar and is pretty much the classic acoustic guitar you probably picture when the term is mentioned. This is not a top end guitar in my opinion, but it will give you solid performance for the price. You can pick them up new for 0 to 0 or, again, try to find used ones for much less.

Purchasing your first guitar can be a bit stressful, but don’t let it be. You just want something basic that sounds alright. Whatever you do, don’t spend a bundle because your playing will be more likely to make cats run away than groupies flock to you!

Choosing a Guitar, Electric Guitar or Acoustic Guitar

What type of guitar do you want to own? Do you want an electric guitar, or do you want an acoustic guitar. The choice is obviously up to you. You will have to take a few things into consideration such as what type of sound are you looking for, ease of playing, and price. There are so many out there that you should easily be able to find what you are looking for.

So you want a guitar, and you are finally going to go out and try and find one.. If you’re on a budget then you might think that your buying options are limited. The truth is that you can probably find a better deal on discontinued models that have barely been used. There are a lot of these items laying around waiting to be sold either because the original owner upgraded, became disinterested, or just changed models.

High quality woods are more expensive and often difficult to find. This has led to the construction of low priced guitars made out of alternate wood varieties such as red cedar or mahogany. Low priced guitars can be found with laminated backs and solid wood tops. You can also find cheap acoustic guitars made out of non-wood materials such as plastic or graphite. Although it’s a well accepted fact that the top, back, and sides made of solid wood are key factors in contributing to a guitar’s pleasant sound, the use of cheap wood materials in acoustic guitars is becoming an acceptable alternative.

The 12 string acoustic guitar has different ways of altering the price between cheap and expensive. Much of the sound originates from the top and your more expensive guitars will feature a solid wood top to get the rich sound you are hoping for. The remainder of the guitar on more expensive models will also be made of solid wood. These methods contribute largely to the sounds produced by an acoustic guitar. Lower priced ones may use solid tops with laminated backs and sides. Acoustic guitars made for amateur guitarists are usually completely laminated. As high quality wood becomes more difficult to obtain guitars have resorted to use other acceptable materials such a plastic and graphite.

Because of the high price of new electric guitars many amateurs have chosen to buy a pre-owned model. Used electric guitars are sold when an owner decides to upgrade to a new model or has stopped playing. Usually the only thing that needs to be done with a used model is to replace the strings, as all other parts of the guitar should remain in good shape.

When you are planning on buying your guitar, don’t compromise on quality. Try to find a good name brand used guitar that appears to be in good shape. In the long run you will be glad you did since the cheaper model will either run up a repair bill, or just end up being thrown away.

Be prepared with a guitar budget. Don’t go out and buy a ,000 used guitar because it’s the same type of guitar Jimi Hendrix used. Find a quality used guitar that has a reasonable price. Don’t go real low on a good name brand as there is more than likely something wrong with the guitar.

Try to find a guitar that is around 10 years old.. You’ll find some great bargains in this category in classified on websites like eBay. They have a section on vintage guitars that are pretty attractive pricewise. Take a look at the sellers feedback to make sure he is respectable and make a deal

A Brief History of Paul Reed Smith Guitars

There are a few guitar companies that are well known for their quality and their list of celebrity players. PRS Guitars is one such company. Paul Reed Smith, owner and creator of PRS Guitars, made his first guitar while he was a student at St. Mary s College in Maryland. He continued to build guitars after college and after he d complete one, he would bring it to concerts and convince the musicians to try them out and give him feedback.

Smith eventually encountered Carlos Santana. The end result of this meeting was that Santana ended up trying out his guitars. (He tried three total.) Santana was impressed, and this ultimately changed the direction of Smith s life. Santana put Smith in touch with a man named Ted McCarty, who eventually became his mentor.

Ted McCarty is a veteran of the guitar industry. He was the president of Gibson for a number of years and he created the Gibson Explorer, the ES-335, and the Gibson Flying V. Like Santana, McCarty also realized that Smith had talent and took him under his wing. The two collaborated and developed a series of guitars together. These guitars are now included in the PRS Guitars line.

Perhaps it was due to McCarty s collaboration with Smith that ultimately lead to the trouble. But, Gibson sued PRS Guitars over their Singlecut guitars, which they claimed were remarkably similar to the Gibson Les Paul style. Eventually Gibson lost the case, but PRS could not make the guitars while the court case was going on. But the case was resolved in Smith and McCarty s favor.

PRS Guitars have a list of current stock models and private stock guitars that are all listed on the website. There are the Singlecut guitars that were previously mentioned, the SE Series which is a lower end model and slightly less expensive, the Santana SE, and the 513 Rosewood Guitar. However, these are just a few examples of the extensive list provided on the site.

There have been a lot of famous artists who have played Paul Reed Smith guitars. These include Carlos Santana, Al DiMeola, Peter Lindgren, Tim Mahoney, Dave Navarro, Mark Tremont, Larry Hanson of Alabama, Larry Lalonde of Primus, Neal Schon of Journey, Rich Williams of Kansas, Steve Stevens with Billy Idol, and Vince Neil of Motley Crue. About the PRS Custom 20th Anniversary

I love the way this guitar looks. I had wanted a quilt finish, but the exact spec would have taken 3-4 months on a special order and cost lots more, so I got this one, and haven t regretted it for a second. Fabulous rich sounds – as soon as I took it to the first rehearsal, everyone in the band could tell the difference (had previously been playing US Standard Strat and Les Paul Studio). Lighter sound than the Les Paul, but so versatile. The tone control is useable and the choice between single/double wound pickups makes a real difference. Magical.
