Popular Electric Guitar Brands for Rock and Roll Musicians

When you’ve any kind of desire for playing rock and roll at all, the one thing that has become totally required for the status of rock and roll legend would be the electric guitar. These are the instruments that generate the sound, the look, and a lot of the attitude that identify rock music. Thus, there are many popular electric guitar brands to look at.
Although the electric guitar certainly was around in the earlier days of jazz, it continued to be simply an instrument within the rhythm section for the most part. A few artists stepped out with their own stylings, Scotty Moore being a very good example, but not too many. Amplification was an attempt to compete with the blaring horn sections, and so the guitar remained rather low key.
And then along came the serious application of electricity to strings, and rock music started its crawl to dominance in the realms of popular music. So far as popularity goes, there are two manufacturers that still stand “necks and frets” over everyone else, and are what the rest desire to be like. These are Gibson and Fender, respectively.
It was the fantastic Les Paul who developed the solid body electric guitar which we all know and love nowadays. The issue had been that the sound of a hollow bodied type generated unwanted feedback and poor sound difficulties. Paul reasoned that by doing away with the hollow body style that he could create a totally electric sound. He was proven completely right, and so the Gibson Les Paul that bears his name stands out as the greatest in rock guitar royalty.
Managing a near second are Fender guitars. Following up on the particular solid body models, Leo Fender started his personal series of electric guitars with good success. They differ significantly from Gibsons due to their unique, and relatively thinner, sound, but many musicians have elevated them into the upper echelons of the rock hierarchy. Two of the most noteworthy Fender players are Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen.
After the rock revolution was achieved it was a good time period for others to enter into the competition. Some brand names have experienced tremendous success in their very own right, mostly due to their exclusive tones and design styles. Rickenbacker made some excellent jangly guitars and were used by such wonderful bands as the Beatles plus the Byrds. Gretsch makes fine instruments that have always found favor in the country music realm.
As things progressed guitars became a little bit more ambitious, with some excellent sounds becoming generated by some genuinely outlandish designs. BC Rich was a leader in showy axes, and remains popular as a result. ESP is a market favorite, as are Kramer and Charvel. These later guitars are also valued for remaining inexpensive, while the Gibsons and Fenders can be prohibitively costly.
Popular electric guitar brands have come to be so for really good reasons. One, they had a exclusive sound that was all their own, and that sound is still very good to the regular audience. Second, they looked good, and all of the rock music industry is about image as much as anything else. And the current models can offer these exact same qualities without costing nearly as much. For anybody who wants to rock, you’ll never go wrong with a excellent guitar.
